SYNOPSIS

THE STORY

Crispin Alexander is a young man who went through drastic lifestyle changes in order to survive a cruel diagnosis of stage IV cancer detected when he was 13 years old. In order to overcome the odds, Crispin moved away from the city life in Europe to a quiet southern Mexico beach and became a performance swimmer, lifeguard and surfer with impressive skills and strength. Aside from his own life, Crispin has saved hundreds more in the past 6 years of being a beach guardian. His father Adrian and Crispin founded the Ajolote Azul project, a Cancer Survival Training Programme they now run together in Zipolite, Oaxaca, with the intention of helping other people who are in a similar situation they were 6-7 years ago, at the beginning of their healing journey.

The short film won two prizes in the only festival it was sent to and it reached more than 6 million views in less than 3 days from being released, being shared more than 18.000 times. the team believes that a long feature documentary produced with professional means can take the life story to a new level of audience.

The Short was released on 1st of December 2018, National Day of Romania, on just two personal FB accounts.

CURRENT PROJECT SYNOPSIS

A documentary that follows the remarkable story of a father and his son as they embark on a healing journey into the heart of nature to fight against cancer. 

Faced with the imminent shadow of death due to Crispín’s Ewing Sarcoma with bipolar lung metastasis diagnosis, the father and son duo decides to travel across Central America, repairing the fractures in their relationship and hoping to heal with the use of medicinal plants and mushrooms.

Having discovered a new haven on the serene Pacific coasts of Mexico, they’ve established a support and resilience green protocol against cancer and various diseases, garnering global acclaim. Their innovative, naturist approach is attracting participants worldwide

The heart of the documentary lies in the shared vulnerability of the main characters, revealing layers of personal struggles and the gradual rekindling of connection and faith.

The team has secured 50 thousand usd from the Romanian CNC to be used in the second phase of the project.
250 thousand usd are needed now to get started in filming and to document the healing process of other Ajolote Azul Programme Participants.
